Scanship Holding ASA said it has through its subsidiary Scanship AS been awarded contracts for the supply of Scanship total clean ship systems on two polar class expedition vessels to be built for Hurtigruten at Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway.
The scope of supply includes garbage handling, foodwaste processing and wastewater treatment with systems for collecting, transfer and purification, the company said in a statement.
"These Scanship clean tech systems will enable Hurtigruten to comply with the highest environmental discharge standards"; says Henrik Badin, CEO of Scanship, in a statement.
Scanship will also deliver Jets vacuum solutions with toilets and black water collecting, confirming the cooperation between Jets Vacuum AS and Scanship AS in the cruise industry. The Scanship advanced wastewater purification will be certified per IMO Marpol MEPC 227(64) chapter 4.2 with nutrient removal to be enforced in special areas from 2020. All equipment will be delivered in 2017 and 2018, it said.
