Marioff has renewed its agreement with Carnival Corporation & plc to provide maintenance services for its HI-FOG water mist fire protection systems, which are currently installed aboard 80 Carnival cruise ships. The agreement, which was initially signed in 2013, has been renewed through 2021 and expanded to include additional vessels and a five-year refurbishment plan. Marioff Corporation Oy, a leading developer of water mist fire protection technology, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

The agreement is the most significant maintenance service agreement Marioff has ever signed in terms of scope and value and it enables Marioff and Carnival to work toward a common goal of helping to keep people safe while onboard. The HI-FOG-equipped vessels will receive five years preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, original equipment manufacturer spare parts, on-call emergency support and crew training.

HI-FOG is ideal for cruise ship applications as it’s approved to be used in all onboard spaces, due to its ability to fight fires with minimal damage to its surroundings. “We are honored to be awarded this extensive maintenance service agreement and value our longstanding business relationship with Carnival. This agreement allows for long-term maintenance budget predictability and more optimized maintenance procedures,” says John Hemgård, director, Marioff Marine Business.

The agreement includes vessels from Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America Line, Seabourn Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Cunard Line, Carnival Australia, P&O Cruises, Costa Cruises and AIDA Cruises brands.
