On July 20th 2010, Zeeland received her first call of the Holland America Line at the port of Vlissingen. The Prinsendam stayed a full day, from 09.30 till 22.30 hrs at the Outerharbour, close to the city of Vlissingen. The ship and its passengers received a warm welcome by a traditional choir, all dressed in authentic, native clothing. Prinsendam carried 825 passengers and 420 crew members. Free shuttle busses were offered to the cities of Middelburg and Vlissingen and most passengers made use of this to visit, amongst others, the historical sites of Middelburg and the beautiful boulevard of Vlissingen. Passengers and the master of Prinsendam were very enthusiastic about the stay of the vessel in Zeeland. |
