Scanship Holding ASA in Norway has through its subsidiary Scanship AS entered into a contract with STX France for delivery of its environmental technology to the world's largest cruise ship, the fifth Oasis class vessel of Royal Caribbean International.

This mega ship will be delivered in 2021 having the capacity to carry more than 9,000 people, passengers and crew.

Scanship will deliver its advanced wastewater purification system and sludge treatment to ensure full compliance with the most strict discharge regulations to date. The contract is the third in line for the world largest cruise ship series and the 19th newbuild contract awarded Scanship by the French yard.

"With this contract, we are continuing our strong leading market position in the Cruise industry, where Scanship AWP for clean oceans are being equipped on more than every second cruise ship entering service from 2014" said Scanship's CEO Henrik Badin in statement.
