Royal Caribbean International’sIndependence of the Seas hosted a Diamond Jubilee Big Lunch this past Sunday tomark Her Majesty’s 60 years on the throne, the company said in a statement.
Joining in with the spirit of The BigLunch Independence of the Seas held a right Royal knees-up of its own for its3,634 guests which spent the day at sea on their way to Gibraltar. Guests had the choice of dining in theelegant main dining room or opt for a more informal setting in the WindjammerCafé. Dining options took on a GreatBritish theme too, with specials including prawn cocktail, roast beef and allthe trimmings and bread and butter pudding as well as some great Britishclassics including beer battered fish and chips, steak and kidney pie andCumberland sausage, mash and red onion gravy.
The ship’s Royal Promenade was decked outin red, white and blue bunting and to get into the spirit guests were giventheir own flags to wave and enjoy live music, traditional village fair-stylestalls, English strawberries and Union Jack cupcakes.
