Crowning the Princess fleet

Crown Princess is the fourth new cruise ship to enter service this year. It will offer operator Princess Cruises, the first ever summer cruises from New York its , when she departs on June 14 for her inaugural trip from the new Brooklyn cruise terminal. Crown Princess is an enhanced sister ship to the Caribbean Princess, and offers many new features to the fleet. The design innovations of the 113,000 gross ton and 3,080-passenger Crown Princess include a new piazza-style atrium, new casual dining venues and a new adults-only retreat called The Sanctuary. Within the new street cafe environment of the atrium, passengers can find a cafe, serving up fresh pastries in the morning, as well as a seafood bar. The hallmark features include the popular Movies Under the Caribbean Princess. After Crown’s inaugural summer season sailing from New York, she will be based in San Juan for a winter season, before returning back to New York in summer 2007. The ship’s builder, Fincantieri is presently constructing sisters for the Crown, the Emerald Princess and Ventura (to be operated by sister brand P&O Cruises).
