The Helsinki shipyard owned by the South Korean shipbuilding company STX Finland Cruise Oy will soon have Russian owners, reports YLE, the Finnish broadcasting corporation in its website.
The deal is set for signing Friday in St. Petersburg as part of a bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Mari Kiviniemi and her Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
The buyer is the Russian state-owned ship builder United Shipbuilding Corporation. About three weeks ago the news agency Interfax reported that the Russian shipping company was to purchase half of the Helsinki shipyard. Interfax estimated the size of the deal at €150 million.
